As the MD, I am focused on pioneering the future of Urban Media. Since forming the organisation in 1997, I have gained a long and varied insight into many industries and business sizes and models. I am also the one who is responsible for cultivating the core values and core purpose of the business. Urban Media is very driven by its culture, so this is crucial to who we are. When I am not at the office, I can’t admit to switching off fully (although I do try). However, I make regular use of the gym and my home studio where I produce electronic dance music.
My focus is on nurturing long-lasting client partnerships built on a deep understanding of their business needs. These close ties help our clients refine their strategies and planning; to sustain performance and growth. Being able to showcase Urban Media’s unique skill set and creativity is awesome. I am very much a people person and enjoy the challenge of matching a tailor made solution to our clients' objectives. My interests are varied and the challenge to myself is to regularly try out something new.
I work on all Urban’s projects from a visual aspect. I am responsible for making sure every project that Urban touches looks the best it possibly can. Since joining Urban in 2012, I've worked on projects from small local companies to large international companies, both B2C and B2B. This varied experience has given me a diverse skill set that allows me to design and develop websites to a high standard. Most designers don’t develop and most developers can’t design. I can do both, which gives me insights into the creation of the best complete websites for our clients.
Outside work I spend time in the gym and playing for a local football team.
Ashton L. Hudson
As the Head of Online Marketing, I'm dedicated to helping our online marketing team develop and execute goal-driven online marketing campaigns for our clients. My wealth of experience as both an in-house and agency marketer has provided me a deep knowledge of search marketing, social media marketing, content marketing and email marketing. This diversity of experience has given me a clear understanding of what matters to the businesses we work for and how our team can drive maximum results.
Outside of the 'office', you'll find me avidly reading about building successful businesses and the ever-changing world of marketing and consumer psychology.
I look after our Partners to ensure they are confident referring their clients to us. Effectively seen as the ‘go to’ or concierge service within Urban Media, I make sure their clients are receiving the VIP service and results from our team. I keep our Partners up to speed with their client’s progress so that the reputation of our Partner is both protected and enhanced. Away from the office, you’ll find me either at the stables, dog training, or planning our next adventure with friends and family.
In the internet marketing business since 2005, I have a good understanding of many aspects of the industry. My real expertise is in SEO, but with Urban Media have been provided the opportunity to learn other aspects, and am now learning coding and have been doing some website development. A former food scientist, one of my hobbies is cooking and being creative in the kitchen.
My role at Urban Media is diverse, covering many aspects of looking after the team and our customers. It has given me a variety of new skills while allowing me to utilise my previous experience which was primarily within the NHS, initially in an admin role and more recently as a registered nurse. In my spare time, I enjoy camping with my three children, gardening and taking long walks with our dog.
